Circa 1830 Terrestrial Globe:

1.) It was structurally repaired, cleaned and the paper restored.

2.) The names and locations of countries from the year 1830 were researched at the Yale Art and Architecture Library so that information could be transcribed with calligraphy pens. Much of it was not legible or it was located in areas of loss. Great care was taken not to over do the inpainting.

3.) The surface was sealed with shellac and French polished.

The globe sold for $28,000. at a renown New York auction house. The perveyor in Greenwich, CT. made a hefty profit.
