Restoration:
1.) The veneer on the top and sides were
destroyed by water.
2.) The marqueterie floral design on the drawers had lifted & bubbled.
3.) The forward vertical columns
had intermittent missing veneer.
4.) One of the hemispheres on a
carved leg had delaminated and became lost in the flood. That was replicated.
4.) All the joints were loose and needed
to be reglued
5.) It was essentially in destroyed condition.
6.) The original starburst patterned
veneer on both tops were saved.
7.) In fact, all the destroyed veneer
was saved.
8.) But the missing veneer was matched
& replaced
9.) Finally, it was French
polished.
Our customers were thrown back in amazement
when they saw it after restoration. They couldn't believe it was the same piece.
