Restoration:
1. Direct water damage nearly destroyed this piece.
2. Many pieces of the marqueterie were lost and had to be replicated using several species of exotic
woods.
3. The remaining marqueterie pieces to the floral pattern were stabilized with animal hide glue.
4. All the veneer was lifted throughout and the joints were loose.
5. Once all technical matters were completed, a French polish or hand rubbed finish was applied.
